Renovations are in store for the University of Southern Indiana's University Center and the former Rice Library.
The Board of Trustees on Friday hired Holzman Moss Architecture of New York and Hafer Associates of Evansville to be architects on the project.
Designs could be presented to trustees in the fall.
USI officials said Holzman is known for university center projects. The firm designed Texas Tech University's Student Union Building, among many others.
The firm designed Mount Healthy School and the Columbus Occupational Health Center in Columbus, Ind., and the DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts at Notre Dame.
In other business Friday, the trustees passed a resolution thanking outgoing student trustee Lauren Fultz of Seymour, Ind., for her service.
USI's graduation ceremony will be at 3 p.m. today at Roberts Stadium.
