Clark Hall, Vincennes University
The renovation of Clark Hall is a dramatic reconfiguration of a traditional double loaded corridor dormitory with gang toilets, remodeled to provide 74 residence suites. The factors guiding the design include building community, security, accessibility and appeal. Getting natural light into the building and providing state of the art educational technologies was essential. Each of the suites includes a living area with kitchenette, bedrooms and private bathrooms shared by only two students. Enhancements to the exterior facades give this building a new look, a new symbol of campus pride.
